Tottenham advised to sign Cup winning Scandinavian midfield star

Tottenham have entered the transfer race for FC Copenhagen talent Victor Froholdt
Thomas Frank is the front-runner to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur and is set to end his seven-and-a-half-year stint as Brentford boss.
The Dane is believed to have a £10m release clause inserted into his current Brentford contract, signed in 2022, which Spurs are willing to meet. He guided the Bees to a 10th place Premier League finish this past season, but there will be expectations on his shoulders to fight for the top spots at White Hart Lane.
As Thomas Frank closes in to become the next Tottenham boss, Daniel Levy is expected to focus on reshaping the squad after a torrid domestic last season. There is an expectation of several incomings and outgoings happening over the next couple of months. Several players have been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, including FC Copenhagen talent Victor Froholdt.

Having risen through the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen, Victor Froholdt earned promotion to the first team during the 2023/24 season. He enjoyed a breakout last campaign, netting six goals and supplying five assists in 53 appearances across all competitions. The midfielder was a part of a FC Copenhagen side that beat Silkeborg IF 3-0 in the Danish Cup final in May.
Tottenham had an offer for Froholdt rejected last year, but with the Danish giants open to offers for him now, they have revived their interest him. Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in the teenage prodigy, so Spurs must act quickly. And reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham feels Froholdt would be “welcome” at the club.
“I did some reading about Froholdt after the initial links,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.
“He has won some awards, he was named FC Copenhagen’s Player of the Season by their supporters, and it is likely that this is another player Johan Lange has identified.
“If he could have a similar kind of impact as Lucas Bergvall, his addition would be welcome at Tottenham, as long as some experienced players are signed alongside him.”

If Spurs want to consistently compete for trophies in the forthcoming seasons, they not only need to invest on young talent but also groom them. Glimpses of that have been seen when it comes to the rise of Lucas Bergvall. Archie Gray also did well in his debut season, but it was Bergvall who caught the eye with his performances that belied his age.

The North Londoners could follow the same pattern by signing Froholdt. The Dane is a sublime talent who showed glimpses of his potential during this past season in Copenhagen colours, and he could form a good relationship with his compatriot Thomas Frank at Tottenham. Frank has developed many players and nurtured young talents at Brentford, so there is no reason why he wouldn’t want to emulate that in North London.
