Thomas Frank is keen to get started at Tottenham as soon as possible

Tottenham endured one of their worst domestic campaigns in recent history this season. The Lilywhites finished the Premier League season just a place above the relegation zone, registering 22 losses along the way. Ange Postecoglou’s men also failed to reach the 40-point mark in the league, which was a point of concern for many fans.

Yet, the North London club managed to end its trophy drought by winning the Europa League against all odds. The sheer determination of the squad to win the competition, and the quality to get over the line in crucial games was clear to see. The only question in everyone’s mind was; Why weren’t the same performances being replicated in the Premier league?

It is important to note that Spurs endured an injury crisis this season, forcing many key players to be on the sidelines for several weeks. Ange’s men just could not handle the intensity of the Premier League week in week out with a depleted squad. But the fans and the pundits will agree that the Lilywhites are much better than what they showed in the league, and it was just a one-off season.

Thomas Frank is excited to work with the Tottenham players

There a lot of things to like about the Tottenham players, even when they have not performed well for most parts of the Premier league campaign. The unity in the squad and the trust in each other helped the Lilywhites achieve the unthinkable as they won the Europa League last month. The players showed glimpses of their calibre in some matches, and they just needed a manager that could help them express that regularly.

Now, Spurs have appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager and the 51-year-old is the right person to bring out the best in them. Transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey believes the Danish tactician is keen to bring out the best in them as well. Speaking to TBR Football, Bailey said,

“But, from what I am told, the belief at Spurs is that Frank is a fan of this squad. They think he will love working with it – someone like Brennan Johnson is going to love playing for Frank.”

Graeme Bailey has suggested that Thomas Frank is a fan of the squad and the 51-year-old cannot wait to get going at N17. The journalist also adds that the players will love working with the newly-appointed Spurs boss, as he will bring out the best in them throughout the season. Bailey also suggested that a player like Brennan Johnson, who endured an impressive individual season, will love working with the ex-Brentford boss.

It remains to be seen how Frank gets going at N17 following his arrival from the Gtech Stadium. The highly rated manager has no time to settle in, and all the performances will be watched closely by the fans and the media following the questionable sack of Ange Postecoglou. It will not be an easy task for Thomas Frank to replace the man who won Spurs their first major trophy in 17 years, but the Danish manager will aim to kickstart a new era at N17.
