Chelsea could trigger transfer chain reaction as AC Milan earmark Tottenham star

Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario is under consideration at AC Milan
Tottenham have entered a period of adjustment. After a disastrous season in the Premier League, but having won the Europa League, the London club has opted for a new approach and appointed Thomas Frank as their next coach. The management might be committed to a more stable structure and a defined system, with a special focus on defence.
Although the goalkeeper position seemed to be a safe zone, the name of Guglielmo Vicario has begun to be mentioned in the transfer offices. Despite arriving as a firm bet to replace Hugo Lloris, his continuity no longer seems so clear.
According to TBR Football, AC Milan have placed Vicario as one of their main targets this summer. The departure of Mike Maignan, although not yet finalised, is considered inevitable within the Italian club. This has led the Rossoneri to explore options, and the 28-year-old Italian is highly rated by the new management.

Although Tottenham’s management do not see an urgent need to sign another goalkeeper, there are those within the club who question whether Vicario is the best guarantee between the sticks. Milan want the goalkeeper, and Postecoglou publicly defended him. Now everything will depend on how much Milan are willing to offer and how much Tottenham are willing to sacrifice.
The possible sale of Vicario raises several issues. Should Tottenham really let him go? The arrival of Thomas Frank marks a new cycle, and starting that process with doubts in goal is not the best way to make an impression. Vicario had his ups and downs, yes, brilliant saves followed by avoidable mistakes.
However, in an unstable season for the team in the Premier League, few names escaped that trend. Can he be blamed entirely? Probably not. The truth is that his profile fits a club like Milan, that are looking for a goalkeeper capable of shining in big games. However, replacing him at this point does not seem so simple.

The squad might need tweaking in defence, a reliable central midfielder and depth in attack. Adding the search for a new top-level goalkeeper to the market would only complicate matters further. Furthermore, Vicario already knows the league and can offer consistency if given real support. For all these reasons, selling the Italian might seem like a hasty decision. Tottenham must think long term.
If the new manager considers him useful, it would be more sensible to bet on his growth rather than sell him when he is still in the process of settling in. Because if Milan see him as a great signing, perhaps Spurs should start to see him in the same way. Meanwhile, here are the 3 players that Thomas Frank could be looking to sign in his first summer in charge.
