Thomas Frank a big fan of Tottenham star; ready to take his game to the next level next season

New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has admitted he is a big fan of striker Dominic Solanke
Following Ange Postecoglou’s departure, a new era has begun at Tottenham Hotspur, with Daniel Levy confirming the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Thomas Frank has developed his reputation as a shrewd, progressive and tactically astute manager with his great work at Brentford. After managing the Bees for seven seasons, of course, the Dane faces a major step up in his career as he is tasked with rebuilding one of the traditional ‘Big Six’ clubs in the Premier League for the first time.
The 51-year-old has inherited a squad that won the Europa League trophy in May, so it isn’t a bad group of players as their last season’s Premier League finish suggest. Undoubtedly, there are plenty of shortcomings that will need to be addressed before the Lilywhites enter the 2025/26 campaign, but it is still a decent roster that Frank will look to get the best out of.

The Dane has now spoken to the club’s media for the first time. The new Spurs gaffer revealed that he is a big fan of Dominic Solanke’s ability as a striker and expressed his confidence of helping him to score a lot of goals next season.
“Of course, I’ve got an idea already. You know, my head is spinning. ‘How can we play?’ I will put them together and all that. But, yeah, before that. When I say talented, it’s also, it’s not only the young players, is also some of the more experienced players,” Frank told the club’s official website.
“How can we get the best out of them? Let’s say Dominic Solanke, I’m a big fan of him in terms of his abilities. I’m sure we’ll make him score a lot of goals.”
Dominic Solanke should get a lot of confidence from his new boss’s words of praise. The centre-forward became the club’s record signing after he joined in a £65m deal from Bournemouth, as the Tottenham bosses tried to fill the gap left by Harry Kane a year before. Expectations were high from our fans after watching the England international score 19 Premier League goals for Bournemouth during the 2023/24 season.

However, a combination of inconsistency and injury setback meant Solanke failed to live up to the lofty price tag in his debut season at N17. The 28-year-old could only score 16 goals in all competitions. Overall, he did deliver 24 goals contributions—the most by any Tottenham player.
The ex-Liverpool man demonstrated in his first season at Spurs that he is more than just a mere goalscorer, something Frank would look to tap into and build the attack around him, with Football London journalist Alasdair Gold backing the Englishman to hit new heights during the 2025/26 season.

Considering how Frank developed attacking talents such as Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Kevin Schade in recent years at Brentford, Tottenham fans will feel optimistic about Solanke’s prospects of evolving more and becoming a ruthless goalscorer under our new gaffer.
