Thomas frank has a massive task of building on the Europa League success that Tottenham endured last month

It is fair to suggest that Tottenham players are better than what they showed last season. The Lilywhites finished the Premier League campaign just a place above the relegation zone, registering 22 losses along the way. They also failed to hit the 40-point mark in the league, and would have been relegated if the teams below them were somewhat competitive.

But while the club endured a disastrous domestic season, it is also important to note that the quality in the squad is immense and it was just one of those seasons where nothing worked out in Spurs’ favour. The players just did not perform to their standards and the injury crisis at N17 did not help the cause as well. Yet, the Lilywhites managed to exceed all expectations and win the Europa League against all odds.

The Tottenham players achieved something that the other greats in the past have failed to achieve during their time at N17. This just shows that the squad has the potential to compete for trophies and the talent is there for all to see. Now it is Thomas Frank’s job to get the best out of them and instil a winning culture at Hotspur Way next season.

Thomas Frank wants to bring out the best in the Tottenham players

The current Tottenham squad performs well if they have the confidence and the backing from the manager. Ange Postecoglou managed to master that trick perfectly as he backed his players time and again when the whole world was against them. Thomas Frank must follow the same line if he wants to bring out the best in these players heading into next season.

The Danish tactician is excited to work with the players at N17 and has relayed a message to point out the quality in the squad. Speaking to the Tottenham Hotspur channel, Frank said,

“I think it’s a very talented squad. I think it’s a very good squad. So yeah, very excited about starting working with them and, of course, you know, when you follow the Premier League, you see the other teams, of course I’ve seen Tottenham, I’ve seen some fantastic performances from the team over the last years, and I’m very excited about that.”

The new Spurs boss added,

“I think there’s big, big potential in it, but of course I’m looking from the outside, so I’m looking forward to get to know them, to be around them, to feel them, to understand them, to work with them on a training pitch, and that’s where you really get the big understanding, and understand the relationships between players and how you can get the best out of them.”

Thomas Frank has suggested that the Tottenham squad is very talented and he cannot wait to start working with the players on the training pitch. The Dane has also acknowledged some of the fine performances put in by the players in recent years, and believes that the potential in the squad is immense. Frank is eager to know the players and understand where they come from as he looks to get the best out of them.

It remains to be seen how the 51-year-old goes about his business at N17. All the eyes will be on him and the media will surely look to criticise the Spurs boss if things start to go south. Thomas Frank also has big shoes to fill in as he replaces the man who ended the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy.
