Nottingham Forest prepared to revive their interest in Tottenham target; Arsenal also keen

Nottingham Forest enter the race for Tottenham-linked Brentford forward Yoane Wissa
Tottenham Hotspur are starting to accelerate their transfer plans after the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach.
Spurs have done well to sign Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel permanently from RC Lens and Bayern Munich, respectively, after the duo did well during their six-month loan spells. The North London club have plenty of work to do in the transfer window after finishing 17th last season, and Thomas Frank is interested in raiding his former club Brentford.
Having spent seven years and developed players at Brentford, it is no surprise that the Danish tactician wants to get reunited with some of his stars at N17. One of those is Yoane Wissa.

Yoane Wissa has developed into a fine forward in the last couple of years, easily replacing Ivan Toney as a partner for Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford. He formed a sensational partnership with Mbeumo up top this past season, netting 19 goals in 35 Premier League outings. The 28-year-old also showed the creative side of his game by delivering four assists.
As a result, Frank wants to bring Wissa to Spurs and improve his team’s potency in attack. However, it would not be straightforward for the North Londoners as there is a new entrant in the race for his signature.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are also keen on signing Wissa. They had a £22m bid rejected for the player during the January transfer window, but if Taiwo Awoniyi departs, the Tricky Trees are ready to revive their interest in the DR Congo international. In addition, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Arsenal are all keeping tabs on the forward.

Wissa has certainly entered the transfer market as a hugely coveted commodity, and after giving his best for the Bees since arriving from Lorient in 2021, he will harbour the ambitions of playing at the highest level and test himself against the best players in the Champions League. Nottingham Forest did narrowly miss out on a place in the Europa League, they will compete in the Europa Conference League next term. This means Nuno Espirito Santo needs a bigger squad to juggle the league and European games.

However, Spurs will be locking horns with the big boys in the Champions League following their Europa League success in May, and with Frank at the helm now, they could have an advantage over Forest and other interested clubs in the race for Wissa. One stumbling block could be his price, with Brentford valuing him at around £50m.
If Daniel Levy can negotiate that price down to £40m, Wissa will represent a shrewd acquisition. With Forest also in the running, we must act swiftly.
