Tottenham backed to make a move for Manchester United star facing uncertain Old Trafford future

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Alejandro Garnacho’s situation at Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to accelerate their transfer business after appointing their successor to Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs have made a couple of deals since the summer transfer window began earlier this month. Mathys Tel has joined permanently following his loan spell from Bayern Munich. Kevin Danso has signed from RC Lens for £21m as well.
Thomas Frank will now want the club to quickly make some new signings before he begins his first pre-season next month as Tottenham boss. To turn the club’s fortunes around, he needs fresh players to work with and implement his ideas. The North Londoners have been linked to a number of young talents from the Premier League and other parts of Europe.
Spurs attackers struggled to find consistency last season, which has led to the club chiefs trying to address the problems with new additions. Despite Tel’s permanent capture, it looks like they are open to more signings in the wider areas of the pitch. This has been evidenced by Tottenham’s interest in signing Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho.

Alejandro Garnacho has fallen out with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford and has been told to find a new club for next season. He is among three other high-profile attackers that Manchester United are aiming to offload this summer to generate funds for new signings.
The Argentinean international cast doubt on his own future after the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao after Amorim dropped him from the starting XI. He put further fuel to fire by posting a picture on his social media on Sunday night of himself wearing an Aston Villa home kit with ‘Rashford 9’ on the back.
Now, Mick Brown, former chief scout at Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, has given an update on the situation of Alejandro Garnacho. He claims Tottenham are preparing to make a move for Garnacho as they want to strengthen their wide areas of the pitch. However, the North Londoners could face competition from rivals Chelsea for the talented youngster’s signature.
“Tottenham have been keeping an eye on Garnacho’s situation,” Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider.
“It’s a move that could suit all three parties because Man United want to sell him, Tottenham will strengthen their team, and he wants to stay in the Premier League. But at the end of the day, it will all be decided by the money on offer.
“In normal circumstances, you’d be totally against selling one of your young players to a direct rival. For Man United, they don’t care where he goes as long as it’s the side offering the most money.
“Whether Tottenham will be the side who come up with the most money, I’m not sure, because you’ve got the likes of Chelsea interested and we know how they can spend. But it’s a move they’re interested in and they’ll go for it if they think it’s one they can get done.
“When the window opens properly, I think that’s when something will happen because as soon as somebody makes an offer it wakes everybody else up.”

Regarded as one of the best young talents across Europe, Garnacho was Man United’s second most effective player from an offensive standpoint last season, behind only skipper Bruno Fernandes. The winger netted 11 goals and added 10 assists on top of that across all competitions, and such numbers in a disjointed side from young, burgeoning talent tells a lot about his high potential.

Capable of playing on both flank, the Argentinean could bring the ‘X-factor’ currently missing in the Tottenham side, whilst improving the depth of the squad ahead of their return to Champions League football. Valued at around £70m, it was suggested earlier this month that Spurs had made a formal offer for the winger.
However, it remains to be seen what exactly that offer was and whether United are ready to accept that. It will also depend on whether Garnacho wants to join Frank’s white army at N17.
