Tottenham eye move for 24-year-old West Ham star – Report

Tottenham looking to ‘end transfer embargo’ with West Ham United by signing Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham Hotspur are set for a rebuild under new manager Thomas Frank, and the attack is an area they are likely to attend to.
The North Londoners’ torrid 2024-25 Premier League campaign was saved by their Europa League triumph, earning a place in next season’s Champions League. Thomas Frank will want a squad that can deal with the gruelling fixture schedule but also players with European experience.
Spurs were dealt a major blow after Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo informed them that he had no intention to reunite with Thomas Frank at N17, and instead prefers joining Manchester United. This has left them looking at alternatives in the transfer market.

Now, according to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham are eyeing a move for West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus. The Lilywhites want to end their “unofficial transfer embargo” with the Hammers and are optimistic about securing a deal for well below the player’s £85 million release clause that is said to run for the first 10 days of July.
Mohammed Kudus was a revelation in the Premier League when he arrived at West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023, scoring eight goals and supplying a further nine assists in 33 Premier League appearances. However, the Ghanaian international failed to build on his impressive debut season at the London Stadium and managed only nine goals contributions.
Despite his dip in productivity, the 24-year-old would be a strong addition to Tottenham’s attacking ranks. The African ace’s ability to play across the forward positions, coupled with Champions League and Premier League experience, would open up plenty of options for Frank. He would bring energy, dynamism, flair and goals, as well as much-needed competition and quality depth at the London Stadium.

A left-footed operator, Kudus has the qualities to thrive in Frank’s system. With the futures of Richarlison and Son Heung-min up in the air, Kudus would be a smart option to replace either one of them in the Spurs squad ahead of next season.
It will be interesting to see what will Tottenham’s first bid be for the West Ham star, with the aforementioned report adding that they are yet to make a formal offer. With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s sale to Marseille set to become official on July 1, the North London club will receive £17m that they can reinvest in the signing of Kudus and many more.
