English star snubs Tottenham interest, commits to PL rivals until 2030

Jarrad Branthwaite snubs Tottenham to stay at Everton until 2030
There are not many positives Tottenham fans can take from this summer’s transfer window. The Lilywhites are yet to make a statement signing and time is ticking over as pre-season is just around the corner. Not only that, but many fans believe Daniel Levy is already setting up Thomas Frank to fail at N17.
The North London club need to address a lot of problems on the pitch, starting with their defence. It is clear to see that Spurs looked fragile at the back, and the lack of squad depth derailed the Premier League campaign under Ange Postecoglou. The Lilywhites finished the season just a place above the relegation zone, registering 22 losses along the way.

Daniel Levy wants to mount a title challenge next season as the Spurs chairman wants the team to compete hard on all four fronts. For that to happen, Thomas Frank will need a strong defensive line with enough depth to cover all the positions. Not only that, but Levy would have to bring in some quality players that would challenge for a place in the starting eleven under the Danish tactician.
Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite extends Merseyside stay amid Tottenham links
It looks like Tottenham have reached a dead-end whenever the club has tried to sign players this summer. With nothing of note to show for in the transfer market despite the Europa League success last season, the Lilywhites are in urgent need to deliver statement signings in a short time as pre-season is just around the corner.
It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton in the summer. The Lilywhites were in a long pursuit to land the England international and viewed him as a perfect replacement of Cristian Romero. However, the Toffees were always sticking to the asking price of £70m, which Spurs were unable to offer. The aforementioned report also stated that Branthwaite was keen to make a summer switch as he wanted to play Champions League football.
Now, the Lilywhites are dealt with a massive setback following the recent news involving the 22-year-old. Everton have confirmed that Branthwaite has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The England international has decided to stay put amid strong transfer links and has extended his stay at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until 2030. This comes after it was reported that David Moyes was keen to retain the Englishman for next season.

Daniel Levy cannot dwell on this for too long and must shift his focus on other alternatives instead. Spurs are shifting their focus towards Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi in the summer and believe that the Palace captain has all the right attributes to become a key player for Thomas Frank. However, the Lilywhites must look to beat Liverpool for his signature as the Premier League champions are also willing to fight hard for his services.
