Tottenham need to act quick if they want to land West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus

A slow start to the transfer window has disrupted Tottenham’s plans for next season as Thomas Frank looks to make his mark at N17. The Lilywhites were looking to close the gap on their rivals next year as they aimed to build on the Europa League success. To achieve that, Daniel Levy has to be proactive in the summer and bring in reinforcements quickly.

The North London club missed out on their intended targets early in the window as they looked to sort out the managerial situation at the club. However, Spurs have not done anything significant since appointing Thomas Frank as the negotiations with other clubs for signing new players have stalled. The fans believe that the Danish tactician is already being set up to fail by Daniel Levy.

The newly appointed Spurs manager made his intentions clear from the get-go that he is aiming to make Tottenham ‘serial winners’ during his time at N17. But it is quite clear that new signings will be needed in the summer so that the Lilywhites can compete on all four fronts next season.

Tottenham might have to fend off competition for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus

Tottenham are looking to bolster their attacking depth for next season as the club looks to build on the Europa League success. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites were edging closer to securing a deal for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana international is facing an uncertain future at the London Stadium, and was also said to be open to move to N17 for next season.

However, after weeks of negotiations and failed bids, Spurs have still not managed to land the 24-year-old. This has brought Arsenal into the picture now as the Gunners look to hijack a deal and lure Kudus to the Emirates Stadium instead. Writing for Ranks FC Ultras Patreon page, Dean Jones said,

“I do think there is a chance Arsenal also touch base with West Ham about Mohammed Kudus. The Hammers would welcome some competition for him, at a time when Tottenham are struggling to find the will to make a bid for the player that is close to his valuation. His release clause is £85million but his actual market value is probably more like £60-65million.”

Dean Jones has suggested that Arsenal will try to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham after Tottenham’s failed attempts to land the Ghana international. The journalist added that the Hammers would welcome a bidding war between the two clubs in an attempt to increase the asking price for the 24-year-old. Jones also pointed out that Kudus’ release clause is £85m, but his actual market price is around £60-65m.

It remains to be seen how Tottenham deal with the situation in the coming weeks. Arsenal’s attempts to hijack a deal will force Spurs to up the ante and pay the asking price for the 24-year-old. The Lilywhites cannot afford to lose out on Kudus after spending weeks on trying to lure him to join the club for next season.
