Tottenham are looking to bring in reinforcements in the summer as the club aims to compete on all four fronts next season

The Tottenham fanbase will go into a meltdown if history repeats itself and the club finishes in the bottom half of the Premier League table yet again next season. The Lilywhites cannot let that happen and need to bounce back immediately under Thomas Frank. All eyes will be on the Danish tactician as he looks to start the season on a positive note in a few weeks’ time.

However, Daniel Levy must ensure that the ex-Brentford boss has the best chance to build on the Europa League success next season. We are reaching the business-end of the transfer window, and Spurs have not yet made a single statement signing. This just shows that the club chairman is prioritising the business side of the club more than the footballing side.

Tottenham are not giving up in their chase of Southampton star Tyler Dibling.
Tottenham are not giving up in their chase of Southampton star Tyler Dibling.

Thomas Frank insisted in his first interview with the club that the Spurs hierarchy should share the same vision as him if the Lilywhites want to be successful next season. The fans resonate with the Dane’s statement as Daniel Levy has time and again stepped away from backing managers in the transfer market while setting them up for failure in the following season.

Tottenham receive boost in their efforts to land Southampton star Tyler Dibling

It was reported earlier that Tottenham are looking to add Southampton star Tyler Dibling to their ranks next season. The teenage sensation had a fantastic debut season in the Premier League, despite the Saints’ relegation from the top-flight. The aforementioned report also stated that Spurs saw a £35m bid for the winger rejected by Southampton earlier.

Now, Lee Hendrie has given his verdict on the 19-year-old’s future at the St. Mary’s Stadium. Speaking to the Football League World, Hendrie said,

“My gut feeling is that Tyler Dibling will leave Southampton. I think that the only thing that might keep him at the football club is Southampton’s valuation of how much he’s worth. Around £65 million, who’s going to pay that sort of money?”

The pundit added,

“I think there’s no doubt that this boy’s going to be a player and he’s already a player, it’s just whether someone can get him at a cut price fee and really get the best out of him. But as we know, these deals can always be varied. They can always be knocked down; there can be add-ons and all the rest of it. That might just tempt Southampton to take the money and give him the opportunity to go and play Premier League football.”

Lee Hendrie has suggested that Tyle Dibling will leave Southampton in the summer. The pundit also adds that no club is going to pay the £65m asking price for the teenager, despite seeing glimpses if his talent and potential last season in the Premier League. Hendrie believes that the Saints will accept a lower price for Dibling if add-ons and other benefits are added into the transfer offer.

This should give Tottenham some boost in their efforts to land the Englishman in the summer. Signing a talent as big as Tyler Dibling for a cut-price deal might just prove to be a masterstroke by the club. But Daniel Levy needs to hurry if the club wants to land the Southampton star in the coming weeks.
