Tottenham are interested in signing AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara
Tottenham Hotspur have woken up in this summer’s transfer window. Spurs completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United on Thursday, and on the same day, they agreed to trigger Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60m release clause at Nottingham Forest.
Gibbs-White was due for medical at N17 on Friday, but Nottingham Forest lodged a formal complaint against the North Londoners’ ‘illegal’ pursuit of the player. This has put a deal for the English playmaker on a jeopardy. If at all a deal comes to fruition eventually and he joins, Gibbs-White will be expected to compete with James Maddison for the No.10 role in the team.
Spurs’ midfield was overrun and outsmarted multiple times last season, with none of Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur or Pape Matar Sarr doing enough. The lack of control in midfield was one of the Ange Postecoglou-managed side’s biggest issues, one new boss Thomas Frank must solve next term.

Tottenham scouts issue glowing reports on AS Monaco midfielder
Now, according to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham scouts have been impressed by the performances of AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, issuing glowing reports on in recent months.
Lamine Camara moved to AS Monaco from FC Metz in July 2024 and instantly became the beating heart of the side. The 21-year-old alternated between the No.6 and No.8 role, enjoying a productive debut season at the Principality that saw him score two goals and register seven assists in 29 Ligue 1 outings. The Senegalese also performed well on the big stage across nine Champions League games.
Unsurprisingly, Camara’s displays at the heart of Monaco’s midfield have caught the attention of Tottenham scouts. At 21, the Senegal international could prove to be a solid long-term investment for Spurs. He’d add tenacity, bite, physicality and creativity to their midfield, whilst improving the depth of the squad.

Plus, the Monaco star fits the North Londoners’ recruitment strategy of targeting young, hungry and exciting talents with potential in recent years. Our club could view Camara as a long-term replacement for Yves Bissouma, who has entered the final year of his contract at White Hart Lane and the Lilywhites’ chiefs are planning to cash him in this summer.
But as the Diouloulou-born talent has a contract until 2029 (Transfermarkt), Monaco are under no pressure to sell him. So, Spurs will have to fork out a big fee in order to persuade the French side to sell their prodigious talent.
