Tottenham ready to sell versatile attacker this summer; dual signings to make job easier

Date:

The signings of Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus has put Manor Solomon’s future at Tottenham in jeopardy

Tottenham Hotspur made their first blockbuster signing of the summer transfer window in the form of Mohammed Kudus last week.

Spurs have splashed £55m to acquire the services of Mohammed Kudus after weeks of negotiations with the Hammers, and getting a player of his quality, potential and experience at that price can be considered a massive coup. The Ghanaian is a flexible attacker who can play anywhere across the front-line, which should bring more value to Thomas Frank’s squad.

Before signing Kudus, the North Londoners also brought in Mathys Tel on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich. During the January transfer deadline day, they had initially signed the Frenchman on loan from Bayern Munich with a buy option for around €60m.

Owing to his lukewarm performances, Spurs bosses did not activate the buy option in his clause and instead opted for a separate arrangement to sign Mathys Tel. Tottenham eventually bagged the 20-year-old’s services in a £30m deal.

The captures of Tel and Kudus have put the future of Manor Solomon in jeopardy at the club. it was reported back in May that Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was keen to keep Manor Solomon at the club on a permanent basis after his crucial role in their promotion campaign.

Manor Solomon tipped to leave Spurs for Leeds
Manor Solomon could still rejuvenate his career at Tottenham under Thomas Frank

The Israeli winger scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 39 Championship appearances for Leeds United, including the winner against Plymouth to clinch the title. Apart from Leeds, French club Marseille have shown an interest in signing the diminutive attacker. However, reports suggest Thomas Frank is ready to offer Solomon a lifeline at Spurs.

John Wenham thinks Manor Solomon will be sold this summer

With competition in wide areas set to be intense next season following the acquisitions of Tel and Kudus, Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham believes Solomon will leave White Hart Lane despite Frank looking to provide him with chances to impress during the forthcoming pre-season tour.

“I know people have said that Solomon is going to be given a chance to impress,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.

“However, I just can’t see that. We’ve signed two wingers already this summer, Tel and Kudus, who both want and expect to be starting. Therefore, we need to make sales, and Solomon is an easy one.

“I thought he would join Leeds permanently, considering the success of his loan last year. However, that hasn’t happened as yet, but I just can’t see him sticking around at Tottenham.”

Mohammed Kudus’ arrival from West Ham has strengthened Tottenham’s attacking unit for the 2025/26 season

Will Leeds United revive their interest in the Israel international?

Tottenham are stacked with talent in wide areas. Kudus can play on both flank, while Tel is tipped as skipper Son Heung-min’s successor on the left wing. Brennan Johnson, who was Tottenham’s top scorer last season, is predominantly a right-winger and will be expected to fight with Kudus for a starting berth.

Other wide options include prodigious academy talent Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert, who joined Spurs from Burnley last summer. So, Frank has sufficient options to select from when deciding his squad next season, which puts Solomon’s future at the club in dark. Given his current situation at N17, it would not be surprising if Leeds revive their interest in the Israel international and sign him from Spurs.
