El Khannouss considering making a 11th-hour U-turn and completing a move to Tottenham

Tottenham have made a last-gasp attempt to hijack Crystal Palace’s move for Leicester City playmaker Bilal El Khannouss

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for an attacking midfielder has been rather unsuccessful this summer, having seen another option slip away.

Italian side FC Como have rejected Spurs’ €70 million bid for creative talent Nico Paz. The operation to sign the Argentinean was appearing to be a tough one from the onset, and Real Madrid’s involvement further complicated it.

It has been a summer of transfer blows for Thomas Frank and his club, and the Paz rejection further adds to their misery. However, it looks like some good news could be on the horizon for the Lilywhites.

Leicester City youngster planning to make U-turn

Crystal Palace have been looking at creative midfield options to replace Eze. They have identified Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss as their primary target to fill the England international’s void in Oliver Glasner’s squad.

The Morocco international, who was one of the rare bright spots in an otherwise torrid campaign for Leicester City that ended in relegation, interestingly is also a name on Tottenham’s radar. He is one of the options wanted by Frank to replace the injured James Maddison, and now it looks like the Lilywhites are set for some encouraging news.

According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham have made a last-minute effort to enter the race for Bilal El Khannouss and hijack Palace’s move. The creative midfielder is considering making an 11th hour U-turn and completing a move to Tottenham after initially showing interest in joining the defending FA Cup champions.

Due to ongoing speculation, the African talent was not involved in the Foxes’ win over Charlton Athletic in the Championship on Saturday. Palace were close to wrapping up a £32million deal for the 21-year-old last week, but Spurs’ entry last-gasp entry into the mix has resulted in him having second thoughts over a move to Selhurst Park. There is now a big possibility that he will choose Tottenham as his new home, the aforementioned report adds.

Tottenham could land a sublime talent in El Khannouss

If El Khannouss does indeed decide to make a sensational U-turn and join Spurs instead of London rivals Palace, Frank would get a cracking talent who is only going to develop.

The Belgium-born Moroccan showed flashes of his quality and potential in his debut Premier League campaign last term, notching five goal contributions for Leicester City. He can play on both left flank and as a No.10, making him a good option in Frank’s system at N17. The Foxes’ starlet has an eye for a pass, can shoot with power, link play well and score goals.

All in all, Spurs could bag coup of sorts at just £32million if El Khannouss decides to head to White Hart Lane.
