“I’m unsure”- Tottenham’s plans to sign Yoane Wissa scuppered after latest transfer update

Date:

Yoane Wissa to Tottenham Hotspur is a no-go this summer

The #9 position is the least of the concerns for Tottenham right now after Richarlison’s sudden emergence from the ashes. The Brazil international has managed to give a glimpse of hope during the first two games of the Premier League campaign that he is ready to rejuvenate his Spurs career. The 28-year-old has also managed to score two goals and provide one assist to start the campaign with a bang.

His competition for the ‘striker’ spot is none other than Dominic Solanke. The England international has not yet started a game for Thomas Frank as he recovers from an injury. But the 27-year-old has immense talent to maintain his place in the starting eleven once he gets going. He endured a ‘stop-start’ first campaign at N17, but the Spurs No.19 is determined to prove his worth at the club.

Yoane Wissa to Tottenham Hotspur is a no-go this summer.
Tottenham are unlikely to land Brentford star Yoane Wissa in the coming days despite transfer links.

There is no surprise that Thomas Frank relies heavily on his strikers. The Danish tactician wants his forwards to play in a certain way. And it is fair to say that Richarlison is doing exactly what he has been asked to do by the ex-Brentford boss. As we approach the last few days of the transfer window, there is an indication that the club is not tempted to go in for a new striker.

Tottenham might miss out on Bretford striker Yoane Wissa

It was reported earlier that Spurs manager Thomas Frank is keen to work with Yoane Wissa again, following the duo’s successful time at Brentford together. The DR Congo international is pushing to leave the Bees before the transfer window shuts, and it looks like his wishes may be granted as Spurs compete with Newcastle United for his signature.

However, Martin Allen has closed the doors for Yoane Wissa reuniting with Thomas Frank at N17. Speaking to Tottenham News, Allen said,

“I’m unsure whether Thomas Frank could go and take a player from Brentford. I don’t think he’ll be allowed to touch their players; that’ll be part of the agreement for his move to Tottenham.”

The ex-Leicester manager added,

“He would like to have Wissa at Tottenham because he does score goals; any player like that would be crucial for Tottenham.”

Martin Allen has suggested that Thomas Frank might not be allowed to purge on Brentford players in this transfer window as part of an agreement. The ex-Leicester manager believes Thomas Frank is keen to work with Yoane Wissa this season due to the striker’s ability to score goals, but he may not be allowed to reunite with the DR Congo international.

Well, missing out on Yoane Wissa might just turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Lilywhites. Bringing in the Brentford striker would disrupt Richarlison’s growing confidence, also indicating that the Brazilian has no future at N17. And it would also mean that Thomas Frank would be stuck with three strikers in the squad for this season.
