RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons has to make a decision regarding his future quickly as Tottenham submit an official bid for his signature
Tottenham are finally upping their ante as we approach the business-end of the transfer window. With only a few days left before the market shuts shop, Daniel Levy has decided to shift gears and bring in reinforcements quickly. Fans are also hoping that the Spurs chairman backs Thomas Frank and manages to sign one or two players before deadline day.
The Lilywhites are in desperate need of a new #10 and a left-winger. It looks highly unlikely that the North London club will be able to address both issues, so signing a versatile player is seen as an alternate option. Spurs are not helped by the fact that James Maddison is set to miss most parts of the season after rupturing his ACL as well.

And the Lilywhites have seemingly missed out on Manchester City winger Savinho as well, leaving fans to wonder what will happen in the last few days of the window. The Brazilian’s move to N17 has been blocked by the Cityzens as Pep Guardiola considers him as a key part of the project at the Etihad Stadium.
Tottenham move first in the race to sign RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons
It has been a summer to forget for Tottenham so far as the Lilywhites have missed out on several key targets. But there is still time for Daniel Levy to save face as he prepares to sign a quality player in the coming days. With time running out in the window, there is little time for the Lilywhites to ponder over the mistakes, and rather focus on what can be done to save the transfer market.
Early reports suggested that Spurs were planning to pip Chelsea and land RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons in the coming days. The Lilywhites have been long-term admirers of the Dutchman, and they were hoping to lure him to N17 by offering him a high salary. The report also stated that Chelsea had already agreed personal terms with the player, before the deal stalled for one reason or another.
Taking notice of that, Tottenham have decided to make their move to land the 22-year-old. As per Florian Plettenberg (via X), the Lilywhites have submitted a bid worth €70m to RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons’ services. The offer is said to be around the ball-park of what the German club value Simons at as well, giving Spurs a major boost to land him.
Not only that, but Fabrizio Romano has also reported that the 22-year-old has arrived in London to make a decision on his future. The Dutchman is being chased by both Tottenham and Chelsea, and it remains to be seen how the transfer saga involves. The deadline day is not far, so an outcome regarding Xavi Simons’ decision is expected soon.
