Harry Kane backed to return to Tottenham Hotspur before he retires
Just like Tottenham, Harry Kane also managed to end his long-awaited trophy drought last season after Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions. The England international’s career was only remembered for near misses during his time at N17, despite his goal-scoring ability on a consistent basis. However, the 32-year-old managed to end that trend by playing a crucial role in helping Bayern reach the promised land.
Kane was known as an ‘almost man’ during his time at Spurs. From going within touching distance of winning the Champions League trophy in 2019, to competing for the Premier League title on two separate occasions, the England international saw everything. However, he realised that his dream to win silverware with the Lilywhites would not come true.

So, without further ado, the 32-year-old decided to move to Germany in 2023 and give himself the best chance of winning major trophies regularly. Kane has settled in well at Bayern Munich and is already on the cusp of reaching a century of goals for the Bundesliga giants. The England international just needs to score five more goals to reach the historic mark following his brace against Chelsea in the Champions League.
Tottenham might be able to land Harry Kane next summer
Many fans questioned Harry Kane’s decision to leave Tottenham for pastures new in 2023, since he was so close to breaking the Premier League goal-scoring record. The England international was on his way to cement his name as the best striker the league had ever seen before heading to Germany abruptly. But it is clear to see that the 32-year-old did not want to waste his best years fighting for a top-four spot to secure Champions League football.
However, Tim Sherwood believes that the legendary forward will return to N17 now that he has won the Bundesliga. Speaking on Sky Sports (via X), Sherwood said,
“Harry will come back to the Premier League again. He’ll be eyeing up Alan Shearer’s record. To say who’s the best out of the two of them is very, very difficult. They’re right up there.”
The ex-Spurs manager added,
“I think if Harry does come back to the Premier League and does break Alan’s record then I think there’s no doubt that Jamie Carragher’s spot on to say he [Kane] is the best English striker we’ve ever seen.”
Tim Sherwood believes fans will soon get to see Harry Kane back in the Premier League. The ex-manager suggests that the England international surely wants to break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal-scoring record before he retires, hinting at a future move to N17. Sherwood also adds that Kane would be the greatest player in the league if he manages to become the outright top-scorer of the competition.
Spurs might look to test the waters for Kane’s signature in 2026 if they are serious about competing for major trophies. It was reported earlier that Kane has a £56m release clause in his Bayern Munich contract that gets activated next summer. This might tempt the Lilywhites to bring back their club legend before any other team swoops in for his signature.
