Tottenham Hotspur have this impending need to bring in a new midfielder in the upcoming transfer windows. And we have seen the Lilywhites linked with a few signings who have the capacity to add that much-needed quality and depth to the current roster.
But among all, there is an opportune signing in Jobe Bellingham. The Dortmund midfielder has not yet settled in the German top tier, with many controversies going on around him which have propelled him towards a possible early exit.
He has only started two league games under Niko Kovac. But then the fact that his parents have started interfering in the state of affairs behind the scenes makes a possible exit more likely.
And Tottenham wanted to take advantage of this situation to try and lure Bellingham junior to Hotspur Way.
United join Tottenham pursuit of Jobe Bellingham

The Lilywhites will not be alone in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham. They have been joined by Premier League heavyweights Manchester United for a move to sign the 20-year-old.
According to a recent report by the Daily Express, Ruben Amorim & Co. are said to be looking for a possible winter loan transfer for Jobe.
The Manchester Reds have been looking to add depth to the current roster. If we look at the midfield dynamics at Old Trafford, they are playing Bruno a bit deeper. And the Portuguese international partner Casemiro in the middle of the park. Ugarte has not been putting in the performances that were expected out of him. And then comes Mainoo. The Carrington academy graduate has not been anywhere close to starting under Amorim, given his preference of Fernandes in a deeper role over Mainoo.
And this is where they need a new midfielder at M16.
TTLB Opinion
We have seen Manchester United being quite rumoured to most of the midfielders that Tottenham have been looking at for a possible move in the upcoming winter transfer window.
If Bellingham is really unhappy at Dortmund, then Tottenham can be preferred customers for his signature. Given that the Lilywhites not only play better structural football, there is also a clear pathway for talents like Jobe to come into their own. And that can help the North Londoners’ cause. Now it is to be seen if the decision-makers at Tottenham can make a firm offer and can persuade the player that his next move should be to N17.
