Tottenham Hotspur set to discuss Dele Alli future this month
According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur will have a discussion over the future of out-of-favour midfield star Dele Alli this month.
The 24-year-old has been with Tottenham since 2015, having joined from lower league outfit MK Dons. An integral member of the team that rose to great heights under Mauricio Pochettino, Alli grew into one of the finest attacking midfielders in England.
However, over the past eighteen months or so, the England international has seen his form decline drastically. While he did show signs of improvement early in Jose Mourinho’s tenure, things have been downhill since then. So much so that, Alli has been reduced to a peripheral squad member under the Portuguese this term.
Indeed, Alli has made just 11 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season, with only four of those coming in the Premier League. The former MK Dons man’s reduced role at the club had led to him being linked with a move away in the summer.
However, the 24-year-old stayed put. But with his situation not improving at all, speculations over his future have once again been doing the rounds. And, as per the aforementioned report, Tottenham will discuss the best possible course of action for Alli this month.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain have expressed an interest in signing him in January. There has also been reported interest from Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle United as well.
