Tottenham Hotspur are ready to risk Harry Kane running down his deal rather than joining Manchester United
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to risk losing Harry Kane on a free rather than sell him to a direct rival such as Manchester United this summer.
The English skipper has been the standout performer for Spurs over the best part of a decade. Despite smashing several club and Premier League goalscoring records, Kane is yet to win a single major honour with Tottenham.
At 29, he is in his prime and is best placed to lead a championship-hunting side. Tottenham are far from being one and have much work to do if they are to even finish in the top four next season.
Kane’s contract with Spurs expires in the summer of 2024 and there is no breakthrough regarding a contract extension yet. While there are several teams who could go big on him this summer, Daniel Levy is keen to hold firm.
The Spurs honcho is ready to cash in on the player for a sum of about £100m should it mean he moves abroad. However, despite Bayern Munich showing interest, it is difficult to see them fork out the cash for a player with months left on his contract.
