Tottenham are pulling ahead of AS Monaco in the race for Tosin Adarabioyo
According to French publication Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are pulling ahead of AS Monaco in the race for talented centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham.
The talented young centre-back has been playing see-saw between Tottenham and AS Monaco for quite some time now. He initially seemed close to the North London club but the French side seemed to have pulled ahead.
However, it has now emerged that Tottenham are back in the driver’s seat for the talented footballer. Ange Postecoglou’s side are looking to do what it takes to sign the young centre-back.
Tosin Adarabioyo has caught the attention of Spurs for quite a few reasons. His contract situation with the Cottagers make him an enticing proposition as the club would be able to sign a defensive reinforcement for cheap.
Additionally, the fact that he would help the club fulfil their homegrown quota means that Tottenham would love to sign him. He helps them on two-three counts but most importantly, he is solid defensively.
Monaco are definitely not going to give up without a fight. Adarabioyo will definitely want to make the correct career choice and having played in the Premier League, he might choose to join Tottenham.
However, there could be an issue with game time at Tottenham. The club are likely to sign high-profile defenders this summer and Adarabioyo might find himself as a first or second rotational option.
