Tottenham suffer blow in their pursuit of ‘lethal’ PSG striker; Juventus reach agreement

PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani is set to snub Tottenham as Juventus deal nears completion
It has been two years since Harry Kane departed Tottenham for pastures new after a successful stint at N17. Yet, the Lilywhites have still not managed to replace the England international’s impact and goals with the money that they received. The North London club brought in Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth last summer after believing that the 27-year-old would fill in the boots of Kane at Hotspur Way.
But it is fair to say that the Spurs No.19 has endured a ‘stop-start’ first campaign at N17 following his switch to north London. Solanke also admitted that he found life tough during the initial months following his transfer to Tottenham last summer. However, the Englishman found his mojo back in front of goal during the last stretch of the campaign, and played a crucial part in helping the Lilywhites win the Europa League last month.

But backup striker Richarlison just did not get going this season under Ange Postecoglou. The Brazil international was injured for most parts of the campaign, and also fell down the pecking order under the Australian tactician. It seems like the 28-year-old’s race is run at N17 and he might head to pastures new in the summer.
Tottenham will miss out on PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani in the summer
There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements for next season. The Lilywhites have struggled in the final third of the pitch, and signing a quality striker will solve a lot of problems up front. With Richarlison heading for the exit doors in the summer, Daniel Levy believes that bringing in a new striker will provide a different dynamic to the attack.
It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani in the summer following the Frenchman’s loan spell at Juventus. The Lilywhites are said to be long-term admirers of the prolific striker and wanted to bring him in to compete for a starting spot with Dominic Solanke next season.
However, Tottenham are all set to miss out on the 26-year-old’s signature for next season. Juventus general manager Damien Comolli has given an update regarding Kolo Muani’s future at the Old Lady. Speaking to Le10Sport, Comolli said,
“We’ve reached an agreement with PSG regarding his salary, and he will be with us for the Club World Cup. There is no final agreement yet for next season, but I’m optimistic because PSG haven’t closed the door, and Kolo Muani wants to stay with us.”
This is a huge blow for Tottenham as they look to kickstart a new era at N17 following the Europa League success. The Lilywhites are on the verge of appointing Thomas Frank as their new manager for next season, and the Danish tactician will need a new strong squad heading into next season as they will be competing in the Champions League.

Daniel Levy must switch his focus on other strikers now as the North London club is set to miss out on Kolo Muani. It was reported earlier that Spurs are willing to bring in Tim Kleindienst and view the Germany international as the perfect replacement of Richarlison. If the links are true, then the Lilywhites must pull out all the stops and land the Borussia Monchengladbach forward.
