“He could stay”- Reliable journo gives latest update on ‘lethal’ Tottenham star amidst Merseyside links

Tottenham forward Richarlison is keen to feature regularly in the starting eleven next season
Tottenham star Richarlison is generating a lot of headlines in recent weeks after enduring a ‘stop-start’ campaign. The Brazil international failed to make a massive impact under Ange Postecoglou, and had also fallen down the pecking order the Australian tactician. It is fair to suggest that the 28-year-old has not had a successful stint at N17 following his switch from Everton in 2022.
The striker has always been a second fiddle at Spurs since his arrival at Hotspur Way. The fans are right to question Richarlison’s ambitions as the Brazilian has never managed to make the number nine role his own under two different managers. With the North London club already falling short of their expected targets in the Premier League, it will not be a surprise if they let the Spurs No.9 leave the club for pastures new in the summer.

As per Sofascore, the 28-year-old managed to score just five goals and provide two assists in 24 games this season. The numbers have not been good enough for a player that arrived at N17 on a £60m fee. Now that the Lilywhites have hired a new manager for next season, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Richarlison in North London.
Tottenham star Richarlison might survive the cut under Thomas Frank
There is no reason to believe that Richarlison must be retained by Tottenham for next season. The Brazil international has not shown the same impact on the pitch that he showed during his time at Everton. In fact, the 28-year-old has become injury prone since his arrival at N17 and he has also failed to force his way into the starting eleven under two different managers.
However, transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey believes that the Brazilian might get a chance to redeem himself under Thomas Frank. As per Bailey (via TBR Football),
“I’m told we need to keep an eye on Richarlison and Thomas Frank. He could end up playing a role for Frank. I think it might not end up being the greatest news for Everton because he might get a chance to play that number nine role under the new Spurs manager. Frank didn’t sign Dominic Solanke and, when he comes in, there’s a real chance he could prefer Richarlison.”
The journalist added,
“The way Brentford played, I think Richarlison’s more suited to how that sets up. Keep an eye on Richarlison. I think the whole dynamic of Richarlison and Tottenham could change with Frank coming in. But he does want to play and Everton would have him back. He wants to play with it being a World Cup year, but let’s not rule out the fact Frank could use him. I’m told it’s a real possibility.”
Graeme Bailey suggests that Richarlison might play an important role at N17 under Thomas Frank. The journalist adds that this might not be good news for Everton as they are trying to sign the Brazilian, but Frank might prefer the 28-year-old over Dominic Solanke heading into next season. Bailey also insists that Richarlison is more suited to the way Thomas Frank operates, and the Spurs forward might make the cut for the World Cup next year if he stays at N17.

It was reported earlier that Everton are interested in signing the 28-year-old for next season. The Toffees are kickstarting a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and believe that bringing in Richarlison will elevate the attack massively. However, negotiations between the clubs have not started yet as Spurs were focusing on sorting out their managerial situation first.
