Tottenham to receive £17m boost once former midfielder moves to Marseille on July 1

Tottenham to bank £17m after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s sale to Marseille becomes official at the start of July
Thomas Frank has been given the opportunity to script a new chapter at Tottenham Hotspur as he looks to build on the Europa League success next season.
The 51-year-old wants to build a new winning culture at Spurs and make them ‘serial winners’, but he will be a man under big pressure as he looks to fill in the boots of a man who ended the club’s 17-year-long trophy drought in May. And for that to happen, the Danish tactician will require full backing from the club and the fanbase.
As far as the backing from the club is concerned, it has been extremely minimal to date. Under Thomas Frank’s watch, Spurs have turned Mathys Tel’s loan deal from Bayern Munich into a permanent move, and are on course to sign Japanese youngster Kota Takai from J-League club Kawasaki Frontale.

With Champions League football on the agenda next season, Daniel Levy must accelerate Tottenham’s transfer business. Also, the Lilywhites would benefit hugely from some outgoings, and there is one player whose departure is set to boost their transfer kitty.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg left the North Londoners last summer for French club Marseille on a season-long loan, with the agreement including an obligation to make the transfer permanent. The defensive midfielder was a mainstay in the Marseille side that finished runners-up to PSG in Ligue 1 last season, racking up two goals and four assists in 30 appearances.
Now, according to a report from Football London, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will officially join Marseille on a permanent deal from Spurs on July 1 for £17m.

The Denmark international’s sale to Marseille would boost Tottenham’s transfer spending, allowing our club officials to aggressively pursue the summer targets. The additional influx of funds should be used to bolster different areas of the pitch. By cashing in on Yves Bissouma, who will enter the final year of his contract next month, the Lilywhites must sign an all-action central midfielder.

FC Copenhagen talent Victor Froholdt has been on Tottenham’s radar since last year. After his move to Eintracht Frankfurt broke down last week, Spurs must look to capitalise on the situation and bring him to N17. At 19, Froholdt would also align perfectly with the club’s recruitment policy of investing in highly-regarded prospects in recent years, thereby, making him a smart, long-term fit.
