“Get him out”- Tottenham backed to sell underperforming star this summer; £20million plus deal possible

Richarlison has been given the green signal by Thomas Frank to leave Tottenham in this summer transfer window
It’s been a few weeks since the appointment of Thomas Frank as the new boss, but Tottenham Hotspur have yet to show their intent in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Bar confirming the permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, Spurs are yet to bring in any fresh faces to the club. Now that Thomas Frank is at the helm, he should be given full control at White Hart Lane to build the team in his image and vision. The 51-year-old’s system and philosophy requires specific players, and chairman Daniel Levy must back him fully with the right profiles.
The North Londoners require new attackers as they cannot continue with Richarlison as Dominic Solanke’s back-up to compete well across multiple fronts next term.

Richarlison joined Tottenham in a £60m deal from Everton back in July 2022. He has endured a frustrating three-year spell in North London, with persistent injuries hampering his development. Once a fine goalscorer at Everton, the Brazilian has come nowhere near to justify his hefty price tag and potential at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 28-year-old made only 15 Premier League appearances this past season- the lowest return of his top-flight career.
Despite a strong end to the 2024/25 campaign, where he played a crucial part in the team’s Europa League success, Richarlison has been given the green light to leave by Thomas Frank. Turkish champions Galatasaray are weighing up a move for Richarlison, who still has two years remaining on his contract. It is believed that they have been tempted by his £20million price tag.
Now, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King is hellbent that Richarlison does not fit the criteria of a Tottenham player and must be sold, although he remains unsure where he could end up.
“I’ve always thought that Richarlison will go to Saudi Arabia,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“That would generate Tottenham a fee of anywhere between £25-30m. It will be interesting to see if Galatasaray can afford a deal.
“Personally, I’m sure a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey would suit Richarlison, and he’d be earning big money. He isn’t a Tottenham player, that’s for sure. Therefore, it would be good to get him out the door as quickly as possible.”

The Spurs striker has been heavily linked with a return to Everton in recent months, while there has been interest from cash-rich Saudi Pro League. Brazilian teams are looking into his availability, too, but the priority for the striker is to stay in Europe. It is actually surprising that the 28-year-old still has a decent market of buyers, even after struggling to stay fit and deliver consistent performances for Tottenham.

It will be interesting to see where Richarlison ends up as he has been given the green signal by the new Spurs boss to leave. If he does depart, Levy will need to bring in a quality replacement. Spurs have made checks over the availability of Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, who enjoyed a strong 2024/25 campaign in Ligue 1.
