Tottenham want to bolster their defence by bringing in Antonee Robinson this summer
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank wants to kickstart a new era at N17 following the Europa League success that the club endured last season. The Danish tactician is keen to make his mark at the club, and wants to make Spurs ‘serial winners’ during his tenure. It is not impossible to achieve that, but the 51-year-old will need proper backing from Daniel Levy in the summer.
As of now, the Spurs chairman has done quite well in order to give the ex-Brentford boss the best chance to succeed. There are still some positions that need to be addressed if the Lilywhites want to compete hard on all four fronts next season. But fans can remain hopeful that it will be sorted out before the transfer window closes in the few weeks’ time.

The North London club must look to strengthen the defence for next season. Thomas Frank already has a lot of centre-backs in his squad, but the lack of natural fullbacks is a real worry. The Lilywhites only have one natural left-back in their ranks, and Spurs cannot go into next season with Destiny Udogie starting week in week out to fill out that spot.
Tottenham are interested in signing Fulham star Antonee Robinson
Destiny Udogie has made a name for himself at N17 after a series of consistent individual campaigns. However, the Italy international still has a long way to go before becoming a ‘world-class’ player for the club. And Daniel Levy believes that the 22-year-old will benefit from having to compete for a spot in the starting eleven and learn from someone more experienced. That is why, the Lilywhites are interested in signing Fulham fullback Antonee Robinson in the summer and make Udogie his understudy.
Now, Martin Allen has urged Spurs to replace Destiny Udogie in the summer by landing Antonee Robinson. Speaking to Tottenham News, Allen said,
“Antonee Robinson is a really good player, he’s got a great attitude and has good qualities across the pitch. I like him, I think he’d be worth £35m without a shadow of a doubt. He is that good, he really is.”
The ex-PL manager added,
“With Udogie, he’s good going forward, but he does make critical errors in the final third, and sometimes you can’t believe what he’s done. I just feel as though he’s come up short, so if I were frank, he’d be one I’d be keen to replace.”
Martin Allen believes that Antonee Robinson is a really good player and has a good attitude that would make him an ideal fit at N17. The ex-PL manager also thinks that the Fulham star is worth £35m as he possesses good qualities on both ends of the pitch. Also, Allen adds that Udogie is a good player while going forward, but the Italian still need to learn and act as an understudy to Robinson next season.

There is no doubt that Spurs are looking to make the most of the transfer window and add some depth to their squad for next season. The Lilywhites are going to be playing every three days, and Thomas Frank will surely need to rely on all the players for crucial games. Bringing in Antonee Robinson will not bolster the quality of the defence, but it will also ensure that the North London club will have a leader on the pitch.
The only downside to this signing might be that the USA international is already 28-years-old, meaning he will not have a long left at his peak from here onwards. So, signing him on a high-profile deal might just turn out to be a risky move in hindsight.
