Brennan Johnson wants to experience the winning feeling again at Tottenham after last season’s UEL success
Tottenham star Brennan Johnson is aiming to reach for the stars this season after becoming the hero for the Lilywhites last year. The Wales international had a dramatic turnaround to his Spurs career after getting pelted on social media at the start of last season, to becoming the player who won the club its first trophy in 17 years. Now, Johnson’s name will be serenaded at N17 for years to come.
The 24-year-old had a season to remember for the Lilywhites under Ange Postecoglou. He started off slow as Spurs suffered to carve out positive results in the beginning. The ex-Nottingham Forest star also had to deactivate his social media accounts following a parade of abuse from the fans. However, what happened after that deserves a movie of its own.

Johnson managed to quickly turn his fortunes around by managing to score in eight consecutive games. Not only that, but the Welshman ended up being the club’s top-scorer of the season, with 18 goals (via Sofascore) to his name in all competitions. His last goal of the season came in the game that mattered the most… the Europa League final.
Tottenham icon Brennan Johnson wants to win more trophies at N17
There is simply no reason why Tottenham cannot carry the momentum from last season and go on and win a major trophy again. Thomas Frank has clearly stated that he wants to make Spurs ‘serial winners’ during his time at N17. And the players have also reciprocated with the same energy as they prepare for the new season. It is still a long way to go, but there is abuzz around the club that this season can be special in its own way.
Now, Brennan Johnson has reiterated his desire to become a ‘serial winner’ while donning the Lilywhite jersey. Speaking to Tottenham’s media team, Johnson said,
“For me personally, it’s just wanting to replicate it, wanting to do it again. It felt good, obviously, it was 17 years (wait for a trophy) for the club. There was kind of a feeling of relief around the place and obviously a lot of joy but for me, as a player, it made me look at it differently.”
The Welshman added,
“I want to be like the players who are serial winners, winning so many competitions, because I’m sure the feeling doesn’t get any worse. I think it gets better every time, so, yes, I want to replicate it. I want to come back, work hard, and I want to do it again with Spurs.”
Brennan Johnson has outlined his personal goals for this season, stating that he wants to win trophies again this year. The Welshman suggested that there was relief around the club after they finally managed to get over the line in the Europa League final last season, and it made him look at things differently. And now, Johnson wants to experience it again and become a ‘serial winner’ with Spurs by working hard by replicating the same form as last season.
All eyes will be on Thomas Frank and his men as they aim to compete hard on all four fronts this season. It is easier said than done, but the Lilywhites have profound belief and backing from the fanbase. The best way to kickstart a new era at N17 is by carving out positive results from the get-go and managing to grind out games when the going gets tough.
