Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou gives positive injury update on Son Heung-min and Wilson Odobert
Tottenham Hotspur lost 4-2 on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Molineux, twice going two behind against Wolverhampton Wanderers and eventually falling to their 17th defeat of the Premier League campaign.
Many have been slammed for the loss, including the defence, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defender Cristian Romero making elementary mistakes. The manner of the Lilywhites’ defeat to Wolves has put more pressure on the squad and Ange Postecoglou ahead of their most important game of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Spurs drew 1-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt at home in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals last week, meaning that Ange Postecoglou and Co. will have to win in Germany this Thursday if they are to qualify for the semi-finals. Tottenham had the worst of preparations for the return leg against Frankfurt; a 4-2 defeat to Wolves that would have further harmed the confidence of the players.

There were a couple of notable absentees for Spurs against Wolves on Sunday. Son Heung-min and Wilson Odobert were not involved at Molineux, with the former picking up a knock on his foot in the last game. Postecoglou has now given a fresh update on the duo and whether they will be involved against the German side in midweek.
When asked by journalists whether Son Heung-min and Wilson Odobert will be fine for Thursday’s European fixture, Ange told Football London:
“They should be, yeah, yeah, Sonny got a knock and no point in him traveling today and with Wilson, as I said before, I was just managing him, but the whole idea was hopefully managing him so he can be right for Thursday night.”

Son has been a mainstay in Ange’s side, bagging 12 goals in all competitions thus far this season. However, the Tottenham skipper has suffered an incredible dip in performance levels and has failed to score from open play in his last 15 club appearances. So, there are understandable frustration levels over his lack of output in front of goal.
Odobert, meanwhile, missed the majority of the first half of the season due to a hamstring surgery. The youngster, who made his return in February from a long-term spell on the sidelines, has three goal contributions in 15 appearances across all competitions this season. The Frenchman was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Frankfurt in the first leg.
