Ex-scout slams Tottenham sporting director for slow start to the summer; club misses out on another young talent

Tottenham are yet to make a signing for next season amidst managerial changes at N17
Amidst all the drama surrounding the managerial situation at Tottenham, the Lilywhites are already playing catch-up in the transfer market. The Europa League success last month was supposed to be a springboard for the North London club to attract new players in the summer. However, Spurs have still not shown any signs of bringing in reinforcements for next season.
The Lilywhites hired Thomas Frank as their new manager for next season. But they must now make sure that the Danish tactician is backed properly in the transfer market following a dismal Premier League campaign. The new season will already be over before it gets started for Spurs if they fail to back the 51-year-old in the summer.

The media limelight is on Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange and club chairman Daniel Levy. They need to get the decisions right and bring in reinforcements for next season as soon as possible. There is a clear need for the Lilywhites to address the numerous issues on the pitch following a disastrous domestic campaign. Failure to address these problems will attract more unwanted scrutiny from the fans and the media in the future.
Bryan King scrutinises Tottenham’s slow movements in the transfer market
The Europa League success was supposed to lead Tottenham forward and kickstart a new era at N17. But the Lilywhites have just not got going in the transfer market and are struggling to enter concrete negotiations for any of their intended targets. While other clubs are signing players quickly, Spurs are still figuring out their transfer strategy under Thomas Frank.
Ex-scout Bryan King believes Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange has not a good job so far in the transfer market. Speaking to Tottenham News, King said,
“Tottenham have players they need to move on, such as Richarlison. In terms of incomings, why they’re moving for someone like Mathys Tel, I have no idea. They would have been better off going for Nypan, who is signing for Manchester City. For a Scandinavian, he seems to miss a few players from that part of the world, Lange.”
Bryan King has suggested that Tottenham need to sell some of their underperforming players before next season starts. The ex-scout has also insisted that Spurs should have gone for Man City bound Sverre Nypan in the summer. King then pointed out that Johan Lange has missed out on a lot of Scandinavian talents in the past despite being from that part of the world.

Fans will now hope that Johan Lange manages to sign the intended targets for next season as Thomas Frank looks to stamp his authority at N17. The Lilywhites cannot afford to go another season without rivalling the clubs in the top half of the Premier League table. A huge transfer window beckons for the North London club, and Daniel Levy must make sure that the squad overhaul is completed in time before the new season starts.
