Crystal Palace star Ebereche Eze is open to head for pastures new amid Tottenham links

A lot of changes are happening at Tottenham off the pitch. The Lilywhites are looking to kickstart a new era at N17 following the Europa League success that the club endured last month. The North London club finally managed to address the managerial situation, after replacing Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank earlier this week.

Now, Spurs have the chance to shift their focus on bringing in players to bolster the quality of the squad. With the club looking to bounce back from a dismal Premier League campaign, it will be important for Daniel Levy to sign some high-profile players for next season. Another important factor that the Tottenham chairman must consider is that the player brought in suits Thomas Frank’s system.

The Lilywhites struggled to get going in domestic competitions this season. Numerous injuries to key players and lack of consistency in all areas of the pitch handicapped Ange Postecoglou’s goals at N17. This led to the Australian tactician’s sack, with many fans believing that the players were partly to blame for the failures that the club endured in the Premier League.

There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bolster their attack for next season. With Heung-Min Son facing an uncertain future at N17 amid Saudi transfer links and Mathys Tel still not signed on a permanent deal, Daniel Levy must bring in a new signing to fill in the potential void left behind by the South Korean.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in the summer. The Lilywhites have been long-term admirers of the prolific winger and have always been keen to bring him to N17 for next season. The aforementioned report had also suggested that Eze was keen to test himself in a new environment following the FA Cup success that the Eagles endured.

Now, Tottenham fans have received another update in the club’s pursuit of the England international. As per Sami Mokbel (via the BBC), the Lilywhites are still keen to add the 26-year-old to their ranks despite the managerial change at Hotspur Way. The Crystal Palace star has a £68m release clause in his contract, which Spurs are considering to activate in the coming weeks.

The Palace No.10 will fit in perfectly at N17 under Thomas frank. The newly appointed Spurs manager likes to invert his wingers (as number tens), so that they can link-up well with the striker. Eze thrives in that position for Palace and will excel at Spurs too under Frank. He can operate in the half-space, and likes to link-up with the striker in the attacking phase.

Signing the England international will also mean that Heung-Min Son will lose his place in the starting eleven. But one player that will be relieved with the 26-year-old’s arrival will be James Maddison. The Spurs No.10 will have another player to share the creative burden at N17 under a new manager.
