Onus on Tottenham to force deal as PL rivals seek over €70 million for Samba star

Date:

Manchester City are seeking over €70 million to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Savinho

Tottenham are looking to bring in new additions to the squad in the coming days as we approach the business-end of the transfer window. The Lilywhites are still looking to replace Heung-Min Son for this season, after the South Korean announced his departure from N17 earlier this month. Now, Thomas Frank will hope that the club backs him in the transfer window before time runs out.

It is necessary for Daniel Levy to bring in a new winger as Thomas Frank relies heavily on his wide players. The Danish tactician wants his wingers to operate as inside-forwards during build-up play. This way, the wide players can make runs inside the channel and get behind the defensive line ahead of the striker. The ex-Brentford boss also wants his wingers to get in goal-scoring positions as the striker lures the centre-backs out of position.

Manchester City are seeking over €70 million to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Savinho.
Tottenham are still confident of sealing the deal with Man City for Savinho.

Keeping all of this in mind, Daniel Levy must look to sign a player that would adapt to Thomas Frank’s system easily. As of now, the Lilywhites only have Mathys Tel as an out-and-out left winger, so bringing in someone to compete with Tel must be seen as a priority.

Tottenham still in the hunt to land Man City star Savinho

A new left-winger that can operate anywhere in the forward line is seen as a priority at N17. The Lilywhites are aiming to bring in a new player that could elevate the quality of the attack, as well as, bolster the squad depth for this season. Tottenham are looking to compete hard on all four fronts this season, so having enough depth in each position should be focused on before the window shuts.

It was reported earlier that Spurs are fighting hard to land Manchester City star Savinho before the transfer window shuts in a few days’ time. The Brazilian winger is keen to move to N17 as he hopes to get regular game time this season whilst playing at the highest level. The report also states that Savinho’s agents have flown down to England to step up talks with Cityzens and outline their intentions of letting their client leave.

Now, there is a new update regarding the transfer saga involving the 21-year-old. As per Fabrizio Romano,

“If Tottenham put big money, 50, 60, €70 million (£60.4 million) or the bid is more than €70 million or Savinho stays at Manchester City. Manchester City are not desperate to let Savinho go.”

The reliable journalist adds,

“If Savinho goes to Pep Guardiola’s office and says, ‘Coach, I want to go. Pep, let me go’, in that case, you’ll remember what happened with Julian Alvarez and other players, Man City could try to find a solution with Tottenham.”

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City are in no hurry to let Savinho leave, and the Cityzens will only accept a bid of €70m or more to let the Brazilian leave. The only other option is that the 21-year-old can force a move on his terms and tells the Manchester-based club that he wants to leave in the coming days. Then City will look to find a solution with Spurs and seal the deal quickly.

The ball is in Tottenham’s court for now, and it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy budges to Manchester City’s demands. With the player keen on a move to N17, it only seems like a matter of time before Savinho dons the Lilywhite jersey for the foreseeable future. Signing a player of his calibre will surely excite the fans and get them off their seats.
