Bayern Munich hoping to retain Tottenham Hotspur target Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to bring back Harry Kane at Hotspur Way. The England skipper has been running riots with Bayern Munich at the moment, but there is said to be a release clause in the 32-year-old’s contract which allows clubs to sign him on a bargain deal in the summer of 2026.
The North Londoners have been struggling upfront given that no one is yet to fill the void that Kane left when he moved to the German top tier a couple of years back. And where a few options were tried, none of them have been able to replicate (or even come close to replicating) what Harry did as a #9.
This is where the prospect of having him back has reignited many Lilywhites supporters. Even head coach Thomas Frank has publicly expressed his openness to welcoming Kane into his roster if the rumours were to come through.
Kane to Tottenham looks right; But will Bayern fold?

Many would argue that Kane is ageing, but the former Spurs skipper is ageing like fine wine. He has been scoring left, right and centre for his current employers this season (accumulated 14 goal contributions from six Bundesliga games), and that is just an indication of how he is the most complete #9 in the continent at the moment.
If that transfer does come through, he will not only add so much to the side but also kickstartthe current project that Tottenham have taken under the Danish head coach. His arrival will inspire not only the supporters but also each player in that dressing room and then all the young players coming through at Hotspur Way.

But Bayern would not let that happen so easily. The German giants’ director Christoph Freund has indicated how he looks to keep Kane at Allianz Arena beyond the upcoming summer window. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to X (formerly Twitter) to quote what he said to Sky90:
“Both us and Harry Kane side can easily imagine continuing together beyond the end of the current contract”.
“Harry feels very comfortable in Munich. That’s why we hope he’ll stay in Munich for a few more yearS”
TTLB Opinion
It was always coming. You wouldn’t see a club with the stature of Bayern Munich letting go of such an integral asset to their roster. Not easily.
But then when you think about Harry Kane, you always think Tottenham, despite it being the better part of a couple of years since he moved to Bayern Munich. It just looks right. But Vinai and his team will have to play their cards right if they are to bring Kane to N17.
