Tottenham have secured the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain

Tottenham Hotspur Thomas Frank has made significant additions to his squad so far this summer but internally he may have been requesting the board to strengthen his forward department further.

Xavi Simons was presented in front of the Spurs fans before the weekend’s defeat to Bournemouth. It marked the Lilywhites’ first loss in the new Premier League season, with Bournemouth fully deserving of all three points.

Richarlison spearheaded the Tottenham attack but was largely anonymous. Thomas Frank had no striker on the bench to help his team get an equaliser and stay unbeaten in the Premier League before the international break as Dominic Solanke was ruled out with another ankle problem. This perhaps sparked the board to make discussions over whether to make a late move for a new striker.

Randal Kolo Muani has signed his Tottenham contract, reports Fabrizio Romano

It was all quiet on early Monday before rumours started circulating that Tottenham are planning an attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani. Rumours soon turned into Spurs making an enquiry to Paris Saint-Germain over a possible move for the France international after his long-awaited deal to Juventus had collapsed.

It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites wanted to sign the PSG misfit earlier in the transfer window, but the player was keen to move to Italy instead and re-join Juventus, where he spent the second half of the season on loan performed well. After Tottenham came knocking for the second time this year (first was during the January transfer window), Randal Kolo Muani said yes to the club.

Now, according to credible journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Kolo Muani has completed his medical successfully and signed his contract as new Tottenham player.

Personal terms with the north Londoners were quickly agreed earlier on Monday, which showed the striker’s keenness to leave PSG for the second time in a year. He has signed a season-long loan with the Europa League champions, becoming the club’s fourth senior signing of the summer, following Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Xavi Simons.

Spurs have done well to secure loan move for Kolo Muani

Persistent ankle issues to Solanke, coupled with Richarlison’s patchy injury record in recent years, left Tottenham board with the decision whether to sign a new centre-forward or not. Eventually, they decided to move for Kolo Muani- a wise decision which should serve Frank well.

A centre-forward by trade, Kolo Muani can also operate off the left and use his dribbling skills, turn of pace and physicality to beat his marker and either make an incisive pass or shoot. The France international has improved Frank’s attacking options, and along with creative players Simons and Kudus, he could help form a new look strike force for the Lilywhites.

With Kolo Muani acquired on loan before the transfer window has slammed shut, Tottenham fans can now claim that majority of the new signings look to be sound investments.
